■自分なりの解説
一番好きな歌詞なので自分で翻訳してみました。
なんだかマイコウにしては異常に熱血に説教してるぜと思いながら歌詞カードをみたら、うるうるきちゃって。
アルバムの方の訳に不満はないのだけれども、是非この長い詩を噛み砕きたいと思って訳しました。
一番の主題の「Keep the faith」は、「信念を貫け」で問題ないとおもうけど、あんまり言うとくどいので、「意志を通せ」とか、言う風に言い方を変えてしつこさを紛らわしてみた。
「やりたいようにやる」って部分は、普通に聞くと「勝手ってことじゃん」ってなるけど、この歌の場合はそんな風にとらないで欲しい。
なんだろうね、自分の中に絶対に揺らがない「信念」とか「正義」とか「根」とか「芯」とか…そういうものの存在を常に意識して、自分を保っていけっていう歌だと思う。
まだまだ未熟で何度も揺らいでしまう私だけど、その度にこの歌の精神を思い出せればいいな。
